The requirement for a high-performance, realistic and affordable mid-subsonic aerial target for air defense weapon system testing and training is greatly needed for today's advanced air defense systems. The Firefly ATX™ is a lightweight turbojet powered all-weather aerial target that can be easily configured to simulate various types of air defense threats including attacking aircraft, various missiles types and newer more dynamic asymmetric threats such as high-speed armed and unarmed UAS/UAV systems.

The Firefly ATX™ features a very efficient turbojet engine with an advanced airfoil wing that makes the Firefly ATX™ very agile for aggressive High-AOA in-flight maneuvering to enhance mission effectiveness. The Firefly ATX™ also features a flexible open-architecture internal and external payload layout for easy integration of a broad range of aerial target payload enhancements and specific customer payloads. The Firefly ATX™ aerial target has also been designed to utilize many of the same support infrastructure and payloads as our low-subsonic Mosquito ATX™ aerial target to further reduce costs. Combined together with its affordable acquisition, operation and service costs and our very capable SAPPHIRE Aerial Vehicle Management System™ for automated/waypoint based and manual flight command & control, the Firefly ATX™ is the perfect choice for advanced air defense training, testing and RDT&E operational needs worldwide.
